The web site contains data collected through the Permanent Observatory on Sustainable Mobility managed by Euromobility and sponsored by the Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea. The Observatory on Sustainable Mobility examines 50 Italian cities made up of all the regional capitals and the autonomous provinces and cities with more than 100.000 inhabitants. Different sources have been used for collecting data:
ISTAT, ACI, Regional ARPA, Municipalities, Ecogas, ICS, Bicincittà, BikeMi, Clear Channel, Osservatorio Sharing Mobility, Euromobility
Data are available from 2006 to 2018 for most indicators, except for those with no updated ISTAT data. Because of the lack of sources, data related to the municipalities’ vehicles and to the index of mortality are available starting from 2011, those related to the accidents are available from 2012 and those related to events from 2010.
All figures are related to the municipalities, except for data on vehicles with low environmental impact which are related to provinces, as this data is available only at provincial level. For the province of Monza, data is available from 2009 onwards as before this date Monza had not yet been established as a province.
Car sharing data only refers to conventional car sharing. Data on free floating car sharing (e.g. Enjoy, car2go, Share'ngo, ...) is thus not included. The same applies to bike sharing.
Note: Missing data in the 'Trend' chart and in the Map are displayed as null values. To distinguish a null value by a missing value go to the 'Table': a null value is reported as '0', a missing value is reported as absent.
Data contained in this website are available for use, reuse and distribution by anyone even for commercial purposes, without prejudice to the obligation to indicate the source of origin and reuse them under the same terms that are laid off from this site.
